The Canadian Child Interviewing Research Team (CCIRT) is a group of Canadian researchers who study how to obtain accurate, complete, and developmentally appropriate information from children in legal and investigative contexts.
We work with researchers, legal professionals, child protection professionals, educators, and community partners to improve how adults question, support, and understand children. Our work focuses on children’s memory, testimony, disclosure, forensic interviewing, courtroom questioning, and evidence-based training for professionals who interact with children.
CCIRT provides research, resources, consultation, and customized training on child interviewing and children’s evidence.
